Served in position of direct supervision and many collateral duties in 70 man maintenance department for this Fortune 500 company.  Responsible for all departmental hiring.  Served as 'cost reduction program coordinator' for the entire plant.  Acted as project manager for departmental capital expenditure projects.  Responsible for maintenance spare parts storeroom with 18,000 line items.   Responsible for in-shop rebuild/fabrication crew.  Responsible for planning & coordination of all departmental work orders.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Promoted automation and modernization of department in many areas.  Instrumental in automating maintenance procedures, including relating work order and stores requirements.  This resulted in a 50% reduction in parts overdue from vendors, and a substantial increase in availability of material for planned work.  Coordinated on a department head level the introduction of a comprehensive PMS program.  As project manager for departmental capital expenditures, brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars in projects, without project over-runs.  Personally responsible for cost reduction projects saving from $100's to $10,000's, and coordinated plant wide projects (including reports to senior corporate management) with total annual savings over $500,000.
